Hubby & I have a comfortable old chair which is special because it is the first piece of furniture his parents bought when they got married. Over the years the chair has resided in several locations in Hubby’s homes, and it has been recovered a few times. Most recently this chair was part of the grouping in our family room. Our cats claimed the chair and, as evidenced by the photo, routinely dug their bad kitty claws into it. Consequently, we started referring to the well constructed, but tattered, heirloom as The Cats’ Chair.
A thoughtful and generous family friend, who got acquainted with the cats and their chair, offered this delightful fabric which she’d bought for a project she decided not to do after all. How purr-fect for the cats! Hubby & I wanted to get the chair reupholstered in time for family and friend’s Thanksgiving visit.
I needed to find a quality upholsterer in my new market area to take on the project. Because I strive to be a good neighbor, I began my referral search on our neighborhood web site. http://www.nextdoor.com. A resident recommended himself for the job! Hubby & I met Chris Brown at our National Night Out neighborhood event, and we learned that his family has been in the upholstery business for three generations and they serve some impressive corporate clients. Here are two good-lookin’ generations from Keys Upholstery delivering the new and improved Cats’ Chair to its current location in Hubby’s office.
Kitty is pleased!
